Training Schedule

Swimmers can come to any training session they wish, according to their age group. No minimum required for competitive swimming.

Please note that training sessions on August 15 and 16 are reserved for swimmers participating in the finals.

A mandatory training day will be set for each group, and swimmers must attend a minimum of 3 training sessions. Additional training sessions may be scheduled during the summer and during the two weeks preceding the artistic swimming competition. Training is mandatory the week before the competition.

Competitions

To participate in the competitions, you must register your swimmers by noon on Monday of each week via a form sent in the CAVIP newsletter.

Every Wednesday at 6:00 PM, from June 26 to August 7, 2024, we will meet at a local pool to compete against a local team. Guaranteed festive atmosphere!

The finals will take place on Saturdays, August 10 and 17, 2024 (full-day events).

Don’t forget your team shirt!

Here are the dates for the Wednesday evening competitions:

  • June 26 at Hudson (against HYC)
  • July 3 at our pool (against VIK)
  • July 10 at our pool (against BHTS)
  • July 17 in Beaconsfield (against BHILL)
  • July 31 at our pool (vs PIN)
  • August 7 in Pointe-Claire (against CEDAR)

Here are the dates for the Saturday finals (full day):

  • August 10 in Pincourt for the section final
    (participation by invitation)
  • August 17, 2024 in Beaconsfield for the ALPS final (depending on section final standings)

In addition to your good spirits, here are some practical items to bring to the competition:

  • Swimsuit
  • Swimming goggles
  • CAVIP team swim cap
  • CAVIP team shirt
  • Water bottle
  • Snacks
  • Towel
  • Warm shirt
  • Change of clothes
  • Pocket money (BBQ and snacks available on-site)

For Parents:

  • Consider bringing camping chairs for comfortable viewing of the competition (some pools may have chairs, but sometimes in limited quantities).
  • Bring a raincoat and/or umbrella if you have doubts about the weather; the competition will proceed if there is no thunderstorm.
  • Consider mosquito repellent or long pants depending on the season!
  1. Join the CAVIP team at 6:00 PM. With your team shirt, it’s easy to spot us!
  2. Confirm your presence with your coach; they will provide you with the details of your events: swimming style, order of participation, and lane in the pool.
  3. Warm up out of the water while the officials prepare.
  4. Oh, do you hear cheers in the distance? Show the other team that we are ready with our rallying cries.
  5. Get your swim goggles and team cap ready because it’s time for warm-up in the pool.
  6. At 7:00 PM, the competition begins with freestyle, starting from the youngest to the oldest.
  7. Visit the ribbon table to collect yours by mentioning your swimming style (e.g., breaststroke), your age group (e.g., 9-10 years), and your full name.

Here are our best tips for a successful evening:

  • Stay close to your coach during the evening to avoid missing your events;
  • Keep warm;
  • Cheer on your team wholeheartedly;
  • Have fun!

Children aged 8 and under must be comfortable in the water and able to swim 25 meters unaided. If necessary, a leader can accompany your child during their race.

Children aged 9 and older must be able to swim 50 meters without touching the pool bottom.

For Finals :

  • To be eligible, a swimmer must have participated in at least two Wednesday competitions.
  • The selection of participants for the finals is made by the coaching team (from past results).
  • The relay team may be different in both finals.

Artistic swimming competitions

  • Summer swimmers’ competition: August 8th, 2024
  • Junior and senior solos and duets competition: August 13th, 2024
  • Team competition: August 15th, 2024

Did you know that more than forty volunteers are needed to organize a competition?

Get involved! It’s a great opportunity to watch your young ones swim up close.

Officials should arrive at the pool at 6:00 PM to receive the evening’s instructions. They should wear a white shirt and black shorts or long pants.
